‘Never work with animals or children’, they say. On my first directing job, however, we let a dozen kids storm the holy grail of SRF, the Tagesschau studio.<\/p>\n\n\n
This would’ve turned out disastrous if I hadn’t had the help and expertise of my team at SRF. A special thanks go to the DoP, Philippe Schnyder, whose involvement and bright ideas truly elevated the whole production, and Mike, who came in last-minute to help me on set with instructions for the kids and getting them where they needed to be. Florian Inhauser, the host of Tagesschau, was a true rockstar through it all. Also, a huge thanks to Juliana, Luca, and Livia, who patiently watched the wild horde outside the studio. And, to Anja, who scouted the kids, communicated with their parents, organized a shuttle service, and never stopped trusting me that I could do it, even when I myself had lost hope.
